The online course builder for schools, colleges and training teams

Teachers build courses from units and slide-based lessons, with maths, science and media blocks ready to use. Course books, resources and interactive activities sit inside the same course, so students have one place to learn. Teachers write in English, Arabic or both, and the interface switches fully to right-to-left for Arabic.

Real maths and science tools

Equation editor, LaTeX, science notation and a graphing calculator inside every lesson.

Activities with scores

Quick checks, sorting tasks, missions and branching stories that award scores and badges.

Course books built in

A PDF reader with highlights, notes and vocabulary, plus optional AI explanations.

Organise courses into units and lessons

Administrators set up grade levels and sections once. Teachers then build each course as a sequence of units and lessons, write a course introduction that tells students what to expect, and attach resources where they are needed. Courses have versions, which keeps changes between terms organised. When a course belongs to a grade or section, every student in that group is enrolled automatically, with a start date and a target completion date. Electives sit alongside required courses, so a student's full programme lives in one place.

Write lessons with subject-specific blocks

Each lesson is a set of slides. A slide can hold text, images, video and downloadable files, so a teacher can pair a short explanation with a worked example and a clip. Maths teachers build equations in the equation editor or type LaTeX directly. Science teachers have science notation built in, and students open a graphing calculator without leaving the lesson. If your institution turns on the AI assistant, a teacher can photograph a handwritten equation and get it back as LaTeX.

  • Text, images, video and files
  • Equation editor with LaTeX
  • Science notation
  • Built-in graphing calculator

Add activities that check understanding

Reading a slide is not the same as understanding it. Teachers drop interactive activities between slides so students apply what they have just seen. Each activity is scored and students earn badges as they complete them, which gives younger learners a reason to keep going and shows the teacher where a class is struggling. Formal quizzes and exams, with time limits and integrity monitoring, are handled separately in assessments.

  • Quick check
  • Spot the mistake
  • Sort it
  • Missions
  • Choose-your-path stories
  • Click the words

Give every course a book and a resource shelf

Upload a textbook or reading pack as a course book and students read it in the built-in PDF reader. They highlight passages, keep notes on the page and build a vocabulary list as they go, which helps anyone studying in a second language. With AI turned on, a student can highlight a difficult passage and ask for a plain explanation, or generate a short practice quiz from a page. Teachers add worksheets and reference files to the course resources, so materials stop living in scattered email attachments.

Teach in Arabic, English or both

Every screen in the course builder is available in English and Arabic, and Arabic is fully right-to-left. Teachers write in the language of the course. Ilmoria never auto-translates what teachers or students write, so an Arabic literature course stays in the teacher's own words. A school that teaches science in English and Islamic studies in Arabic runs both from the same account. See how language works across the platform on the bilingual page.

Questions buyers ask

Do teachers need to know LaTeX to write maths?

No. Teachers can build equations in the equation editor without writing any code, and the result displays as properly typeset maths. Teachers who already know LaTeX can type it directly. With the optional AI assistant switched on, a photo of a handwritten equation can be turned into LaTeX, which saves real time when converting old worksheets into lessons.

Can we bring in content from our current LMS?

Yes, with some limits today. You can upload files, videos and PDFs as lesson blocks, course books and resources, and CSV import covers users, courses and grades. Importing SCORM and xAPI packages is on the roadmap, along with LTI 1.3, but is not available yet. If you have a large content library, ask us during your demo about the best way to move it.

How are students added to a course?

Automatically, in most cases. When students belong to a grade level or section, Ilmoria enrols them in every course for that group, each enrolment with a start date and a target completion date. Electives can be added for the students who choose them. Administrators can pause or withdraw an enrolment when a student's plans change, and academic breaks are set in the calendar.

Do students need an app to take lessons?

No. Ilmoria runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, and it can be installed as a web app on a home screen. Lessons, course books and activities are mobile-friendly. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap, but students do not need them to learn today.

Is the AI in the course builder required?

No. AI features are optional and controlled by your institution. If you turn them on, teachers can convert handwritten equations to LaTeX and generate course-book cover art, and students can ask for explanations of highlighted passages or short practice quizzes from a page. If you leave them off, every other part of the course builder works exactly the same.
