Ilmoria is a learning management system for Moroccan private schools, universities, business schools and companies. Education and training in Morocco

Language policy in transition

Framework Law 51-17, adopted in 2019, brought foreign languages, mainly French, back into the teaching of science and technical subjects. English has since been extended to every year of middle school. Many students therefore learn across Arabic, French and English, and some also study Amazigh, an official language.

Public school reform and a strong private sector

The national education ministry is carrying out its 2022–2026 reform roadmap, including the pioneer schools programme, and official student records are kept in the ministry's Massar system. Private schools, including French-curriculum and other international schools, are a large part of urban education, and families expect regular digital updates.

Universities, business schools and industry training

Public universities, many with open-access faculties, take in very large first-year cohorts, while private universities and business schools often teach in French or English. Morocco's automotive, aerospace and offshoring industries also run substantial staff training. Since 2020, blended and distance options have become a normal part of higher education.

How Ilmoria fits institutions in Morocco

  • French course content today

Teachers can write lessons, quizzes, assignments and course books in French, Arabic or English, and mix languages within one course. The interface itself is in English and fully right-to-left Arabic; a French interface is something to ask us about. See how the bilingual interface works.

  • Several schools under one group

A group with schools in Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech can give each school its own logo, web address, users and data. Group leaders see reports across all schools, and staff only see the schools they work in.

  • Admissions, fees and parents

Admissions run through private registration links, online applications with documents and placement tests. Fees can be recorded as cash, bank transfer, cheque, card or online, and parents see invoices, receipts, grades and messages in the parent portal.

  • Large classes, fair exams

Objective questions are marked automatically, randomised questions and time limits make shared exams fairer, and integrity monitoring flags suspicious attempts for review. Written answers queue for the teacher with the answer key beside them, which keeps marking manageable for large cohorts.

  • Training for industry

Manufacturers and service centres can train staff in French, Arabic or English, with managers following completion and employees receiving certificates with QR verification. See Ilmoria for corporate training.

Data protection: what to check

Morocco's Law 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data is enforced by the CNDP. Most processing must be declared to the CNDP before it starts, some needs prior authorisation, and transfers to countries without adequate protection generally need CNDP approval. A reform to update the law has been discussed but not adopted. Check your declarations, consent wording, access rights, retention periods and hosting location. Ilmoria provides consent records, role-based access, and data export and deletion on request. Talk to us about your hosting-region requirements.

Questions buyers ask

Is Ilmoria available in French?

Course content can be in French, but the interface is in English and Arabic today. Teachers can build complete courses, quizzes and course books in French, and students see that content exactly as written, with no automatic translation. If your school needs French screens for staff, students or parents, ask us about it during your demo.

Does Ilmoria replace Massar?

No. Massar remains the ministry's official system for student records, and Ilmoria does not connect to it directly. Ilmoria handles daily teaching and communication: lessons, assignments, quizzes, live classes and parent messages. Schools can export grades and users as CSV files, which helps staff prepare the data they enter into official systems.

Can Moroccan universities use Ilmoria with large first-year cohorts?

Yes. Users can be imported from CSV and enrolled automatically by section, objective questions are marked automatically, and randomised questions with time limits make shared exams fairer. Integrity monitoring flags suspicious attempts, and graded discussions with peer review let students give each other feedback when one teacher cannot read every draft.

Can companies in Morocco train staff on Ilmoria?

Yes. Companies run training with admin, manager or trainer, and employee roles, and each site or business unit can have its own branding and users. Courses can be written in French, Arabic or English, managers follow completion, and certificates carry QR codes that anyone can verify on a public page.

Where is data hosted for Moroccan institutions?

We do not claim hosting in Morocco. Ilmoria runs on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest, daily backups and data isolated per organisation. Because Law 09-08 restricts some transfers abroad, talk to us about your hosting-region requirements and check your position with your adviser before signing.
