Online gradebook and transcripts, from the first mark to the official PDF
Ilmoria keeps every mark a student earns in one gradebook, then uses the confirmed final grades to produce transcripts with GPA and credits. Teachers see points, percentages and late or missing work at a glance. Administrators approve and lock the records that leave the school.
Every mark in one place
Quizzes, assignments and graded discussions all land in the same gradebook.
Changes with reasons
Teacher adjustments carry notes, and admin overrides require a written reason.
Official, locked transcripts
GPA and credits from final grades, approved, then locked as official PDFs.
See every mark a student has earned
Marks from quizzes and exams, assignments and graded discussions arrive in the gradebook as points and percentages. Objective questions are marked automatically, and written work appears once the teacher has marked it, often against a rubric. Late and missing flags show which work needs a conversation, so a teacher scanning a section can spot the student who has quietly stopped submitting long before report cards are due. Problems surface while there is still time to fix them.
Apply late policies the same way every time
Each assignment can use one of four late policies, so students know the rule before they submit and teachers do not calculate deductions by hand. Resubmission limits stop endless redrafts while still allowing a second attempt where it helps. When a teacher changes a mark, for example after a resubmission or a medical note, they record an adjustment with a note that stays with the grade. A head of department reviewing a disputed mark can see what changed and why.
- No penalty

- No late work accepted
Confirm, override and lock final grades
At the end of a course, the teacher confirms each student's final grade. Final grades use letters from A+ to F, plus Incomplete and Withdrawn for students who did not finish or who left the course. If an administrator has to change a confirmed grade, Ilmoria asks for a reason and records it. Once grades are locked they stay fixed, which protects the record that transcripts and certificates are built from. Important actions are also kept in an audit trail.
Generate transcripts with GPA and credits
Transcripts are generated from confirmed final grades, so nobody retypes marks into a separate template. Each transcript shows GPA and credits, then goes through an approval workflow before it becomes official. Approved transcripts are issued as locked official PDFs, ready for university applications, scholarship files or school transfers. Course completion and graduation can be recognised alongside them with verifiable certificates that carry QR codes, so the whole academic record comes from one source.
Track competencies and build portfolios
Some schools need more than a letter grade. Ilmoria also tracks competencies, so teachers can record mastery of specific skills over time rather than relying only on an average. Students build portfolios of their work, which helps with project-based programmes, parent conferences and applications that ask for evidence. Parents follow grades and final grades through the parent portal, so families see results as soon as the school releases them.
Questions buyers ask
Which letter grades does the gradebook use?
Final course grades use letter grades from A+ through F, along with Incomplete and Withdrawn. During the course, the gradebook shows points and percentages for each piece of work. If your school or university works with a different scale or credit system, talk to us so we can review together how it maps to final grades and transcripts.
How is GPA calculated on transcripts?
Transcripts are generated from confirmed final grades, and each one shows GPA and credits. Because the transcript pulls from locked final grades rather than a separately typed list, the GPA always matches the grades the teacher confirmed and the administration approved. An approval step runs before any transcript becomes an official, locked PDF.
Can a grade be changed after it is final?
Yes, but only on purpose. An administrator can override a confirmed final grade, and Ilmoria requires a reason for the override. Grades can then be locked so they no longer change. Important actions are recorded in an audit trail, which helps when a parent, a student or an inspection team asks how a particular grade was reached.
Can parents see grades?
Yes. Through the parent portal, parents follow each child's progress, grades and final grades. They see results as the school releases them, and they can open an academic conversation with a teacher or the administration if they have a question about a mark, without phoning the school office.
Can we export grades to our student information system?
Yes. Grades can be exported as CSV, along with users and courses, for use in other systems. Enterprise plans add a REST API and webhooks for automated syncing. If you are still deciding where grading should live, our guide to LMS vs SIS explains which records usually belong in each system.
