An LMS in Tunisia for bilingual schools, universities and training
تونس
Ilmoria is a learning management system for Tunisian private schools, universities and companies. Teachers build courses in Arabic, French or English, run exams and live classes and keep parents informed, while administrators manage admissions, fees and certificates. Every screen is available in English and fully right-to-left Arabic.
Education and training in Tunisia
Arabic and French in the classroom
Arabic is used for humanities subjects, while French remains the main language for maths, sciences and technical subjects in secondary school and at university. English is taught as a foreign language and is used more and more in higher education and business. Schools preparing students for the baccalaureate often work with material in two or three languages.
A national system with distance-learning experience
The Ministry of Education runs public schooling, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research oversees public universities and a growing number of private ones. The Virtual University of Tunis has supported online courses for public universities for years, so many universities had some experience of online teaching before 2020.
Private schools, training centres and offshoring
Private and international schools, including French-curriculum schools, serve many families in Tunis, Sousse and Sfax. Tunisia's offshoring, IT and industrial sectors also hire graduates who need ongoing training, often delivered in French and English by companies and private training centres.
How Ilmoria fits institutions in Tunisia
French courses, Arabic or English screens
Teachers write lessons, quizzes and course books in French, Arabic or English, and what they write is never auto-translated. The interface is in English and fully right-to-left Arabic today; a French interface is something to ask us about.
University courses with peer review
Faculties run graded discussions with a submission phase, a peer-review phase and final grading, with anonymous reviews, word limits and rubrics. Final grades feed transcripts with GPA and credits. See how Ilmoria supports universities and colleges.
Live and self-paced, together
Schedule live classes per section or grade with Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams links, and give students a weekly timetable. Between sessions, self-paced lessons, course books and quizzes keep learning moving.
Parents and fees in one place
Parents follow grades, message the school about academic, attendance or payment questions, and print invoices and receipts. Staff record payments by cash, bank transfer, cheque, card or online, and see which accounts are overdue or on hold.
Staff training with verifiable certificates
Companies and training centres assign courses, follow completion through managers, and issue certificates with serial numbers and QR codes that open a public verification page.

Data protection: what to check
Tunisia's Organic Law No. 2004-63 on the protection of personal data remains the main framework, overseen by the national authority for personal data protection (INPDP). It requires processing to be declared in advance, a guardian's consent and a family judge's authorisation to process children's data, and INPDP authorisation for transfers abroad. A bill to replace it was submitted to parliament in 2025 and was still under review in early 2026. Check consent, access rights, retention periods and hosting location. Ilmoria provides consent records, role-based access, and data export and deletion on request. Talk to us about hosting regions.
SecurityQuestions buyers ask
Can teachers in Tunisia build courses in French?
Yes. Teachers can write complete courses, quizzes, assignments and course books in French, and mix French, Arabic and English within one course. The interface is available in English and Arabic today, with Arabic fully right-to-left. If your staff or parents need French screens, ask us about it during your demo.
Can Tunisian universities run blended courses on Ilmoria?
Yes. Faculties combine timetabled live sessions on Zoom, Google Meet or Teams links with self-paced lessons, course books and quizzes. Graded discussions with peer review, rubrics and late policies support coursework, and integrity-monitored exams with final-grade approval support assessment. Transcripts with GPA and credits are issued as locked PDFs after approval.
Does Ilmoria help with Organic Law 2004-63?
Ilmoria provides tools that help, but compliance remains your institution's responsibility. You can record consent, restrict access by role, review audit trails, and export or delete a person's data on request. Declarations to the INPDP, authorisations for children's data and transfers abroad are matters to review with your legal adviser.
Can a group of private schools in Tunisia share one Ilmoria account?
Yes. Each school can have its own logo, colours, web address, users and data, kept separate from the others. Group leaders see central reports across all schools, and staff only see the schools they are assigned to. Students and parents only ever see their own school.
Can a Tunisian company train staff in other Maghreb countries?
Yes. A company can run each country or site as its own business unit with separate users and branding, under one account with central reporting. Courses can be written in French, Arabic or English. Read about Ilmoria in Algeria and Morocco for local context in each market.
