An LMS in Lebanon built for multilingual schools
لبنان
Ilmoria is a learning management system for Lebanese schools, universities and employers that teach in Arabic alongside English or French. Courses, exams, live classes, parent communication, admissions and fees sit in one platform. Every screen is available in English and in fully right-to-left Arabic.
Education and training in Lebanon
A school system led by private schools
Private schools, many of them run by religious orders or community associations, teach a large share of Lebanese pupils, alongside public schools under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The same ministry oversees higher education, where the Lebanese University is the only public university among many private ones.
Three languages in the classroom
Maths and sciences are usually taught in French or English from the early grades, with Arabic as the national language. Schools prepare students for the official Brevet and Lebanese Baccalaureate exams, and many also offer the French Baccalaureate, the IB or an American high school diploma. A platform has to handle content in all three languages.
Teaching through disruption
Since 2019, the financial crisis, the 2020 closures, the Beirut port explosion and periods of conflict have repeatedly interrupted schooling. Power cuts and unstable internet are common, many teachers and families have moved, and schools rely on remote and blended options to keep classes running. Collecting fees has also become more complex, with more payments made in cash.
How Ilmoria fits institutions in Lebanon
French content, Arabic and English screens
Every screen is available in English and fully right-to-left Arabic. Teachers can write lessons, questions and course books in French, English or Arabic, and nothing they write is auto-translated. The interface is not available in French today; ask us about it if your staff or parents need one.
Learning that continues when schools close
Self-paced lessons, quizzes and course books let students catch up whenever they have power and a connection. Live classes run on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams links from a weekly timetable. Administrators can adjust enrolment dates, pause enrolments and add academic breaks when the calendar changes.
Payments recorded the way families pay
Staff record payments by cash, bank transfer, cheque, card or online against each student invoice. Parents see invoices and receipts in the parent portal, and statuses such as overdue, grace period and hold help the finance office plan follow-ups.
Several schools, one account
Networks with schools in Beirut, Mount Lebanon and other regions can give each school its own branding, web address, users and data, while leaders see reports across the network. See multi-school management.
Records graduates can prove abroad
Transcripts with GPA and credits are issued as locked PDFs after approval, and certificates carry serial numbers and QR codes that open a public verification page. That helps graduates applying to universities or employers in other countries prove their records.

Data protection: what to check
Lebanon's Law No. 81 of 2018 on Electronic Transactions and Personal Data sets rules for collecting and processing personal data, including informing people and giving them rights of access and correction. Some processing must be declared to, or licensed by, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, and there is no independent data protection authority. The law says little about transfers abroad, so cover hosting location and onward transfers in your contracts, along with consent, access and retention. Ilmoria provides consent records, role-based access, and data export and deletion on request. Talk to us about your hosting-region requirements.
SecurityQuestions buyers ask
Can we teach in French on Ilmoria?
Yes, course content can be written in French. Teachers build lessons, quizzes, assignments and course books in French, English or Arabic, and can mix languages within one course. The interface is available in English and Arabic today; if your teachers or parents need French screens, raise it with us during your demo.
How does Ilmoria help when Lebanese schools have to close suddenly?
Courses keep running online. Students continue self-paced lessons and quizzes from a phone or computer, teachers move timetabled sessions to Zoom, Google Meet or Teams links, and administrators can pause enrolments or add academic breaks. Parents follow progress and message the school through the parent portal while the building is closed.
Can teachers use Ilmoria to prepare students for the Brevet and the Baccalaureate?
Yes. Teachers build practice quizzes and mock exams with time limits, randomised questions and automatic marking of objective questions, while essay answers queue for the teacher with the answer key beside them. Students can download the question paper afterwards for revision, and competency tracking shows which topics need more work before official exams.
Do you host data in Lebanon?
We do not claim in-country hosting in Lebanon. Ilmoria runs on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest, daily backups and data isolated per organisation. If your institution has requirements about where data is stored, talk to us about your hosting-region needs before you sign.
Is Ilmoria only for schools?
No. Universities use it for courses, peer-reviewed discussions, exams and transcripts, and companies use it for employee training with admin, manager and employee roles. Lebanese companies and NGOs can run onboarding or mandatory courses and issue certificates with QR verification that staff keep after they move on.
